Program: human habitation

System Logic: no naked edges, double skin thickness, continouos surface and vector path in all                                                directions.

             Scale: 1"=1'

                   Volumetric Constraints: approx. 9'x9'x9'

                         Materal: cardboard, tape.

We tackled this project by generating forms through the act of cutting and folding a heavy stock white pieces of paper. After the desire shape was formed it was put in a 10”x10”x10” incremented plexi glass, so it could be photographed and traced digitally.

When the paper model was digitalized, we simplified, rebuilt, rationalized and double skinned it in Rhino.

Once the design was approved we immediately jumped into making the study model by unwrapping each piece and laser cutting them and taping them together.

Pieces were put into CAD, scaled up and coded. Industrial laser cutter was used to cut the pieces precisely. Eventually all the pieces were brought to the site and assembled there within the given 48 hours.
